Ms. Diane Payne, Commercial Manager, WIBISCO, noted the concept for National Biscuit Week was developed to give back to both the Barbadian community and staff, through a week long 105^th anniversary celebration. She said, “Our activities include a church service, community Bajan biscuit sampling activities at various locations, and a celebrity cricket match, while internally our team will be treated to a delicious Bajan breakfast.”

However, one of the highlights of WIBISCO’S anniversary celebrations has been their visits to people born in 1910.  Ms Payne explained, “For our 100^th anniversary we presented Barbados’ centenarians with a gift and this year we were very pleased to revisit some of them who have now reached their 105^th year to deliver gift baskets.  She added, “We wanted to thank them for their long affiliation and loyalty to WIBISCO.”

During one of the presentations, a spritely Melville Williams of Lonesome Hill, St. Peter, who celebrated his 105^thbirthday in February, was pleased the Company remembered him and even invited the WIBISCO presentation team to have breakfast with him.

The week begins on October 12^th and will conclude on Octobe 18^th with sampling sessions at some of the island’s churches.
